The Occupational Health and Safety Act sets out minimum health and safety standards to protect most workers in provincially regulated workplaces. The Canada Labour Code does the same for most workers in federally regulated workplaces. Underlying both regulatory regimes is the belief that workers who know about workplace hazards, participate in the management of workplace health and safety, and are not afraid to refuse unsafe work, are less likely to be injured at work and suffer from work-related illnesses.
Ron has a Master of Health Science degree in Occupational and Environmental Health and worked as a health and safety professional for six years before going to law school. Although he no longer works in that role, his commitment to promoting health and safety, educating workplace parties about their rights, roles and responsibilities, and helping workplaces manage health and safety more effectively has never diminished.
The “hands on” experience Ron possesses from his previous work as a health and safety professional enables Franklin Law to provide workplace parties with insightful advice and practical solutions with respect to all health and safety matters.
